The Series ACT Castrol made its debut at the 10th annual Salon National Auto-Sport Motorise (March 30-31/April 1) in St-Hyacinthe, Quebec. The show annually draws thousands of people to the Hotel des Seigneurs to check out race cars, hot rods, tuners and virtually all things motorized.

With this week's announcement by ACT that Castrol will return to sponsor the 12-race Late Model series, there was no better place to have booth and talk to the auto sports fans of the region. Everyone was excited to hear that Castrol will be returning as the title sponsor.

There was still excited talk about last year's ACTion Super Series race at nearby Sanair Super Speedway. Many old ACT fans from the Montreal area checked out the Late Model cars for the first time at when the ACT Tour visited the .89 mile tri-oval and were impressed with the car count (64) as well as the competition.

Many ACT competitors and team members, past and present, also stopped by the booth on Friday night to talk about the coming season. All were pleased to know that the entry forms for the first two Series ACT Castrol events were in the mail for those who hadn't filed full-season entries.

Veteran racer, Andre Coursol had his beautiful CARQUEST Late Model on display in the SMAC booth which also happened to be on the cover of the current issue of the magazine. In fact, the issue was hot off the presses. SMAC is a popular full color motorsports magazine in the province. Coursol, of St-Jerome, Qc will run select Series ACT Castrol events in 2007 including several of the ACTion Super Series races.
