WATERBURY, VT – Thunder Road International Speedbowl officials have announced that stock car driver Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, VT has been disqualified from his apparent second-place finish in the NAPA Tiger Sportsman division’s Merchants Bank feature event on Sunday, May 6.

 Laquerre’s car was lighter than the allowed minimum weight requirement in post-race inspection, and was stripped of its finish.  Laquerre has been penalized all points and purse money earned in the Sportsman portion of the Merchants Bank event.
 

     Pete Ainsworth, Jr. of Middlesex, VT crossed the finish line in third place behind Laquerre and winner
Nick Sweet, and now inherits the runner-up position.  Chuck Beede, Kevin Campbell, and Justin Hart complete the revised top five finishers.
