NOLIN SCORES UPSET FIRST WIN AT SPRING GREEN
First-time ACT winners go three-in-a-row

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Young stock car racer Ryan Nolin survived eight restarts and the challenges of
Milton, VT drivers Brent Dragon and Jean-Paul Cyr to score an upset first career victory in the 33rd annual
Furniture World of VT Spring Green 100 at Airborne Speedway on Saturday night. Nolin, of Georgia,VT,
became the third driver in as many events this season to score his first American-Canadian Tour (ACT) win.
After watching his father, Dan, win races and championships at the Plattsburgh, NY oval, Nolin
began his racing career in the track’s Street Stock division in 2002.

“To get my first win here at Airborne means so much,” said an exhausted Nolin in victory lane. “This is
the track where I started watching races, and where I wanted to win the most. It’s also the track I have
struggled at more than any other. This is a special win for me and my family.”
Jamie Fisher of Shelburne, VT led the first 40 circuits before six-time ACT Late Model Tour champion Cyr
nosed ahead for two laps. Nolin made a daring three-wide move under the pair on lap 43 to take the lead,
which he never surrendered. Dragon was solidly in reach of the lead all race and used a series of late
restarts to close the gap on Nolin, but fell two car-lengths shy at the finish line. Cyr finished third,
ahead of Brian Hoar and Randy Potter.
Scott Payea, Roger Brown, Donald Theetge, Steve Fisher, and John Donahue rounded out the unofficial Top 10
finishers in order.
Cyr is the unofficial point leader at 285 on the strength of three top-three finishes this season. Payea,
the Merchants Bank 150 winner at Thunder Road (VT) last week, is second at 258 points. Potter, winner of
the opening event at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on April 28, sits third at 254 points. Hoar (235) and
Ron Henry (234) are fourth and fifth, respectively. Nolin (232), Dragon (227), Brown (223), Joey
Polewarczyk, Jr. (199), and Marc Curtis, Jr. (187) complete the unofficial Top 10 in point standings.
Theetge of Boischatel, QC is 11th at 184 points.
The Serie ACT Castrol will kick off its inaugural season at Autodrome Montmagny in Quebec on Saturday, May
19. The ACT Late Model Tour resumes action at Circuit Ste-Croix near Quebec City on Saturday, June 2. For
