Remnants of Tropical Storm Barry Wash Out Feature Events; Excellent Forecast for Sunday

ANDERSON, SC (June 2, 2007)The remnants of Tropical Storm Barry are bringing much-needed rain to the dry Southeast this weekend, but they also have forced the postponement of the PASS South “South Carolina Clash” event at Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) until Sunday, June 3rd.

Before the skies opened up, PASS South competitors were able to get in their time trial session.  Preston Peltier of Concord, NC set fast time with a lap of 15.606 and a speed of 86.505mph at the 3/8-mile Anderson Motor Speedway.  Easter Bunny 150 winner Ryan Lawler was second-quick, followed by Ben Rowe, Heath Hindman and Jeremy Rice to complete the top-five qualifiers.

The top-eight PASS South qualifiers will enter the Dash event on Sunday to determine the starting lineup in the front four rows, while the rest of the 28-car field will be set by heat races that will begin at 2pm on Sunday.  Pit gates will open at 12 noon and the full card of main events, including heats, the 125-lap “South Carolina Clash” PASS South, the Redneck Racing Series, and Anderson’s local Mini Stock and Legends Car divisions will follow beginning at 2pm.

Fans who purchased tickets for Saturday’s event should hold on to their ticket stub and that will allow them admission to the rescheduled “South Carolina Clash” event on Sunday.
