Sessions wins first after 6 years of trying;
Rose joins club of fast kids in Runnin' Rebels

OXFORD, Maine – Six years of persistence paid off Friday night for Kimberly Sessions.

With the largest Acceleration Series crowd of the season looking on as part of TD Banknorth 250 Weekend Presented By New England Dodge Dealers, Sessions sped to her first career win at Oxford Plains Speedway in the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Ladies feature.
Sessions wasn't the only first-time winner on Polly's Variety/D.R. Fournier Night. Calvin Rose Jr. became the third different 16-year-old high school student to capture a Macdonald Motors Runnin' Rebel main event this summer, echoing Josh Childs and Ryan Philbrick's previous rookie visits to victory lane.

Seven other features thrilled the fans on a wild night of racing under a crystal-blue sky.
Tom Averill picked up his second straight win in Chimney Tech Outlaw action. Kevin Lawrence joined Averill in winning his second 20-lap Outlaw event of the season, and Mark MacDonald became a three-time winner in the class for full-size sedans.
Gregg Norton extended his all-time record for Rebel feature wins with another checkered flag. Kyle Hewins collected his second four-cylinder victory of the campaign in the high-point event.
Past division champion Marvin Hamilton has been knocking on the door of a Call of the Wild RV Sport Truck victory all season, and he finally prevailed Friday.
Jamie Heath has enjoyed an easier time in the upstart Crazy Horse Racing Renegade division. Heath won for the 10th time in 11 starts.
Maine's most prestigious annual short track weekend continues with the Maine-Ly Action Sports 100 tonight at 6:30 p.m. It's the first-ever OPS appearance by the True Value Modified Series.
Qualifying for the TD Banknorth 250 begins at 2 p.m. Sunday. Don't miss your chance to get tickets. The Speedway box office will open Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Call (207) 539-8865 for details.
