Augusta, Maine – A motorsports show in the middle of the winter in Maine? Tim Attaya knew the reaction he would get when he proposed such an event in 1987. But, he felt the motorsports enthusiasts in the three-state region would welcome an event showcasing the varied motorsports activities found in northern New England all year long.

A year in the planning stages, the first "All Seasons Motorsports Expo & Trade Show" was held at the Augusta (Maine) Civic Center on the first weekend of January in 1989. The show was a big hit with the motorsports fans and the exhibitors and no one was more pleased than Tim Attaya.

There have been eighteen "motorsports showcases for all seasons" since that first 1989 event. Even though Attaya changed the name of the motorsports exposition ten years ago to more reflect the region, he has not altered the successful formula.

On Friday, January 4, 2008, when the doors of the civic center swing open at 5:00 p.m., the Northeast Motorsports Expo & Trade Show will celebrate its 20th anniversary. And, as he has done on nineteen previous occasions, Tim Attaya will welcome motorsports enthusiasts to his "show".

The twentieth edition showcase is being billed as "Fan Appreciation Weekend" as several thousands of dollars in door prizes will be given away.

"All of our exhibitors have donated items as door prizes," said Attaya. "The list of prizes includes several ticket packages to New Hampshire International Speedway, tickets to various racing events in Maine and New Hampshire, gift certificates, racing tools and equipment, racing apparel and a whole lot more. Four Season Synthetics and AMSOIL are giving away to a race team a 2008 sponsorship package of AMSOIL products for the race car and the towing vehicle."

"I can not thank all the exhibitors enough for their generosity," stated the show promoter.

Visitors to the show must register at the exhibitor's booths for the door prize they are giving away. There is no limit on the number of times one can register for a particular door prize over the weekend or the number of exhibitor booths one can register at. The drawings for all the door prizes will take place on Sunday and you do not need to be present to win.
