Return to Franklin County Fairgrounds next stop for Rock Maple Racing,
Presented by the New England Dodge Dealers

DERRY, NH. (Dec. 31, 2007) – With holiday celebrations behind us and more snow in the forecast, the time has come to get back to the business of winter motorsports. For the fourth consecutive year, the sights and sounds of snowmobile racing are about to return to upstate New York.

While the scenic Adirondack region is generally quiet in winter, the town of Malone will roar to life as Rock Maple Racing (RMR) gets set for Round 3 on the 10-race 2007-08 Central series snocross schedule at the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Jan. 5-6, 2008.
Gates will open at 8 a.m. both days, with racing getting under way at 9 a.m. sharp. Admission is $12 per adult on Saturday and $15 per adult on Sunday. Advance sale weekend passes can be purchased for $20. Children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes will be available for an extra $10.

Leading the charge into Malone are Pro riders C.W. Sirjane and Danny Poirier. Sirjane, of Whitehall, NY, currently leads defending and multi-time champion Jason Boron by a mere two points in Pro Open after three races (Central Pros and Semi-Pros also ran at the West series opener in Windham, NY), while Poirier, of St. Theodore, QC, leads Sirjane by four markers in Pro Stock.
In the highly-competitive Semi-Pro division, young Robert Graeber has created quite a buzz among those who follow the circuit. The native of Willow, Alaska, leads RMR veteran Derek Graham by 23 points in the 600 Stock class, while his two wins in Semi-Pro Open have helped him build a 12-point advantage over Chris Chico. Graeber also won the high-stakes Winter X Games Qualifier in Rumford, Maine on Dec. 15, earning him the right to compete at the prestigious ESPN Winter X Games in late Jan./early February in Aspen, Colorado.
Along with the high-flying Pro and Semi-Pro action, this weekend's event will also showcase some great racing in the Sport, Women and Junior divisions. This event is once again hosted by the Malone Chamber of Commerce, who invite you to come see all this true gem of the Adirondacks has to offer.
Last year in Malone, Canadian snocross veteran Karl Allard and 2006 Pro champion Matt Boron notched huge victories. Allard, of St. Felecien, Quebec, held off fellow Canadians Danny Poirier and Simon Belzile to capture the prestigious Woody's Challenge in front of a packed grandstand.
To round out his weekend, Allard also claimed the Pro Open final over Boron and Poirier. Boron had an impressive outing at Malone, winning the Pro 440 final to go with his podium finish in the Open class.
