Ben Rowe will Drive for Five PASS North Super Late Model Championships
NAPLES ME (March 7, 2008) – Its official: Ben Rowe will contend for a fifth Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Championship in 2008. The four time PASS North Super Late Model champ will be shooting for his second consecutive title with Richard Moody Racing.
Rowe's record is well known to fans of the Pro All Stars Series; four PASS North championships, 30 plus wins and a top three finishing average right around 65 percent. Remarkable statistics for any driver in any series, but especially impressive when you consider the depth of competition Rowe has faced over the past seven seasons.
The RMR team has an ambitious 2008 PASS campaign planned. Another PASS North title chase, a run at the first PASS National Super Late Model Championship, and as many as five additional PASS South dates are currently on their schedule.
Rowe and the Moodys seem like a match made in racing heaven. They enjoy the challenge of tour racing, whether it's a trip to the Carolinas or Maritime Canada. Richard Moody has a long and successful history in Maine motorsports, dating back to his successful pairing with "The Outlaw", Mainer Jeff Stevens. After a nineteen year hiatus from car ownership, the Moody family came back to the sport they loved, and their eventual pairing with Rowe has produced the expected results.
"Rick Moody wants to race against the toughest competition on the toughest race tracks. He will race anytime, anywhere. This whole team loves to race, just like I do, so I couldn't be in a better situation," said Rowe. "By the time we head to Hickory for the Easter Bunny we'll have three cars ready to go, two of them brand new. The competition will be tougher than ever, but if we can stay consistent and get a little racing luck, we should be able to challenge for both titles."
Says Moody," As a team, our primary focus in 2008 will be Tom Mayberry’s Pro All Stars Series, and we're looking forward to the challenge. All of the top teams look like they are coming back in 2008, and, there are some new teams coming on board that will be contenders for sure. But, we have a great race team and we're looking forward to seeing how we measure up."
The PASS South season gets underway in two weeks at Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway with the March 22nd Easter Bunny 150. The Easter Bunny is also round one of the inaugural PASS National Super Late Model Championship series. PASS North gets the green on Saturday April 19th with 150 green flag laps at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough Maine.
