Newburgh, NY May 13, 2008 – The Allison Legacy Series and the racing community as a whole suffered a great loss with the passing of the Allison Legacy 2003 National champion Mark Howard of Randleman, NC. Mark passed away at his home Monday morning May 12, 2008.
ALNRS Series Director Michael A. Vasquez, Sr. stated, I first had the pleasure of meeting Mark back in 2002 shortly after I joined the Allison Legacy Series. He was known as the go to guy for information and was always willing to help you with your car. His set up book was like a free library of information. He once said to me if you can beat me with my set up then you beat me as racer against racer. If you ever got a chance to race against him or see him race you knew he had what it took and that he was a racers racer and a true champion. Words cannot express the loss we will all feel not having Mark there to guide both the young and veteran competitors alike both on and off the track.
A Memorial Service will be held at Pugh Funeral Home in Ashboro, North Carolina at 11:00 on Thursday, May 15, 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Victory Junction Gang.
