(Hermon, Me) Speedway 95, kicked off the first day off Summer by avoiding nearly all the rain drops that were literally surrounding the track, by getting in racing in four divisions, plus the second race in Coca Cola Strictly Street Series.
The 35-lap Coca Cola Strictly Street series hit the track Saturday for the second race of their three race summer series, with all 35-laps caution-free. Jordan Pearson held the front of the field to take the win, but it was challenged repeatedly by rookie, and pole sitter Wayne Parritt, Jr. of Steuben, who crossed the line for second. Ellsworth’s Brad Norris finished third. After the race was over, tensions between Derek Pearson and rookie Travis Poulin of Holden came to a head causing a black flag for each driver, and taking away Derek Pearson fifth place finish, and Poulin’s fourth.
In the Dysart’s Pro-Limited’s the only caution flag flew at lap 5, when Dave St. Clair, of Liberty, known by many fans as “Boss Hogg,” spun out. Newcomer, and pole sitter Joey Doyon of Winterport earned the win, with Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs in second, and Roland, “J.R. Rockin’” Robinson finishing third.
Kris Watson of Hermon, who has been a dominate force in the Super Streets this season, winner all heat and features, with the exception of just 2 races thus far, returned to his winning ways, picking up the heat win, and the feature win. Rookie Doug Sinclair of Hermon took the second spot, with Franklin’s Greg Pung in third.
The Sport-Fours had just two cautions, at laps four and seven, but despite the two momentum killing cautions, inside pole sitter, Steve Moulton of Glenburn led from the green to the checkers and picked up the win. Rick Grant of Lagrange who started on the outside pole finished second, with David Green of Hampden working his way towards the front of the field to be awarded the third place trophy.
Jordan Pearson of Glenburn once again made it a double win weekend, with the Full Size Truck win, holding of Winterport’s Ernie Wallace, who took second, and Andrew Crosby of Hermon, who finished the night in third.
