CHARLOTTE, NC (July 25, 2008) –  Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry is proud to announce a partnership with new Southern National Raceway Park owner Del Richards that will bring PASS South Super Late Model racing back to Southern National Raceway Park in Kenly, NC starting on November 29, 2008.  The PASS South Super Late Models will join the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stocks for Twin 150’s, both paying $5,000 to the winner in Southern National’s Annual Thanksgiving Classic.  The race will be a non-points event for the PASS South Super Late Models.

In 2009 PASS South will make three trips to Southern National Raceway Park with all three events being PASS South point races.  PASS South will kick off the 2009 season on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Southern National Raceway Park with a 150 lap event paying $5,000 to win and $500 to start.  Then, PASS South will return to Southern National on July 18, 2009, for a big 250 lap event paying $7,000 to win and $700 to start.  This race will be part of the PASS National Series and should attract Super Late Model drivers from across the country.  Finally, the PASS South Series will crown the 2009 champion when the series returns to Southern National for the Thanksgiving Classic on November 28, 2009 for another 150 lap, $5,000 to win event.

“We’re really excited to be coming back to Southern National Raceway Park in 2008 and 2009,” said Mayberry.  “We had a great race there in 2006 that was won by Freddy Query and we look forward to bringing Super Late Model racing back to the fans of Eastern North Carolina who love it so much.”

For Richards, getting the PASS South Series back to Southern National was key upon his purchase of the speedway. “Race fans know the great history of Super Late Model racing at Southern National,” said Richard.  “I really feel like having PASS on board can bring Southern National back to where it used to be.  We’ve got some big plans here and it’s going to be great to start and end the PASS South season here.  Not to mention the PASS National race in July.  I hope this really gets race fans attention and lets them know that we’re serious about racing here at Southern National.”

PASS South will be back on track  Saturday, August 2nd for the third Annual South Carolina Clash at  Dillon Motor Speedway.  Also in action will be the SuperTrucks, Chargers, and Street Stocks.  Dillon Motor Speedway is located in Dillon, SC, just off Interstate 95 exit 191 on SC Highway 9.
