Naples ME – The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and Mods are back on track this Saturday when Monster Energy presents Riverside Speedway’s Summerfest 2008. It’s a weekend long motorsports extravaganza , offering up two nights of racing that are guaranteed to satisfy even the most die-hard race fan.

Friday night July 25th the Groveton New Hampshire oval features the Jake McDowell Memorial 100 for street stocks plus monster trucks, daredevils, angels and super stocks. Friday night’s action goes green at 7:00 PM.

On Saturday July 26th the PASS Super Late Models and Mods take center stage. Kelly Moore is the defending race champion, and he’ll be looking to turn around a less than stellar 2008 PASS campaign with a strong run at Riverside. Ben Rowe has the points lead as the season approaches the half-way mark, but Travis Benjamin is only four points back (1388 to 1384) in the title chase. Adam Bates leads Cassius Clark by just one marker for third (1376 t0 1375) and D.J. Shaw trails Rowe by sixteen points in fifth at 1372.

Tom Oliver visited victory lane for the first time in the PASS Mods last time out at Beech Ridge, and he’ll be looking to go back to back on the tight confines of the Riverside quarter mile. The Mods are also staging a tight points battle with just eighteen points separating Oliver from Greg Lucas, Gary Norris and Andy Shaw in fourth. Local Mod ace Ron Gooden Jr. sits fifth in the standings, and he’ll be looking to improve with another visit to his racing family’s home track.

There’s something for everyone on Saturday night’s card as well, with the STAR cars, dwarf racers, cyclones, monster truck rides and a 4×4 tug-o-war on the docket. Racing gets underway Saturday at 5:00 PM. There’s special savings on a two day ticket as well as family packages for each night’s action.
