Veteran racer Tom Oliver has a wealth of open wheel and Beech Ridge Motor Speedway experience, and he put both to good use Saturday night to win the PASS Mod feature at Scarborough Maine’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Oliver raced up from seventh on the starting grid to nab his first feature win of the season over Gary Norris Jr., Rob Herrick, Kenny Harrison and Bill Dixon.

Dixon led the field to the green but an apparent missed shift sent the field scattering around him and Kenny Harrison into the lead. Harrison looked like the car to beat early on but he wound up on the rear of the field after a lap nine caution.

Dixon recovered just fine from his fudged start earlier and claimed the lead on the restart, with Oliver now second and 2007 Mod Champion Chris Staples third. Dixon and Oliver both know their way around the Ridge, and they put on a great side-by-side battle for the lead. Oliver finally edged ahead and took over the point  on lap 27.

Dixon brought out the caution one lap later, spinning from the second spot after contact with Norris. Oliver kept his cool, battling Norris and Rob Herrick for the final thirteen laps to earn the hard fought victory.

The PASS Mods get back on track Saturday July 26th with a visit to Riverside Speedway in Groveton New Hampshire. For more information on the PASS Mods and all of the Pro All Stars touring series visit   www.racewithpass.com
