(Hermon, Me) The Coca Cola Strictly Streets finished their 3 race series two weeks later then planed after the action was washed out on August 16th. Pole Sitter Wayne Parritt, Jr. of Steuben earned the pole for their final 35-lap race of the season Saturday night, August 30th, but was overtaken by Jordan Pearson of Glenburn for the win. Parritt ended the night in second, with Brad Norris of Ellsworth in the third spot. The 1-2-3 finish mirrored the final points standing of the series, with the win putting Pearson on top. In the regular standings for the division, 22 points separate Wayne Parritt, Jr. from second place Brad Norris, with next week the final race of the season for the Strictly Streets.

Dale Swoboda of Hermon found his Pro-Limited ride on fire in turn two three laps into their feature. After the fire was put out the race resumed, and Brenton Parritt of Steuben picked up the win, pole sitter Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs finished third. Parritt has the points lead by 87 points over Seekins going into the final week of racing.

Kris Watson’s hot streak in the Super Streets continued to run its course with another win for the young driver out of Hermon. Artie Maguire finished the caution free race in second, and Travis Beale of Winterport took the third spot. Watson’s string of wins for the season makes him the guaranteed champion of the Supers for ‘08, with a 214-point lead over the remainder of the field.

’07 Defending champion Lewis Batchelder of Dixmont over came a few tense moments to lead the Sport-Four field to the checkered flag. Jason Trundy of Old Town finished second, and Steve Moulton of Glenburn crossed the line for third. One of the drivers, Ron Beaulieu of Old Town had a hard hit in lap 8 that draw out the red flag. Beaulieu was sent to the hospital as a precaution. 11 points separate Batchelder from the second place driver, Jason Trundy in the standings.

Jordan Pearson of Glenburn held the top spot in the Full Sized Truck division, despite 3 cautions and a black flag in the field behind him, by lap 12 Pearson led the field by the full length of the straightaway, but a caution at lap 16 put all of the drivers close together in the closing laps. Andrew Crosby of Hermon finished second with Jason Trundy of Old Town in the third spot at the checkers. Pearson holds the point’s lead going into the final week.

RJ Pinkham of North Anson picked up the win in the Maine Super Cup Racing League feature with Josh Ireland of Howland in second, and his father Fred Ireland also of Howland in third.
