BURLINGTON, VT – Chittenden Bank of Vermont and Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl are offering young stock car racing fans the chance to be a part of the pre-race festivities at the 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, Sept. 28.  One lucky child age 6-12 will be selected from each of 15 participating Chittenden Bank locations to go on the “Rookie Ride” with drivers from the American-Canadian Tour Championship Late Model series on the Thunder Road highbanks at the Milk Bowl.

Each winner will take a lap of honor around Thunder Road with qualifiers for the Chittenden Bank Milk
Bowl, including the winner of the $1,000 Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Pole Award.  Children ages 6-12 may enter as many times as desired for a chance to win at the following locations: Two Burlington Square in Burlington, North Avenue in Burlington, Shaw’s Supermarket in Colchester, Malletts Bay, Barre, Montpelier, Waterbury, West Street in Rutland, Woodstock Avenue in Rutland, Shelburne Road in South Burlington, Five Corners in Essex Junction, Randolph, Newport, Tafts Corner in Williston, and Milton.  Each winner will also be given two Adult passes for Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, or any two adults of their choice.

The Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl, known as the “Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America,” is a three-segment, cumulatively scored race in which the overall winner is determined by a total low score.  Each 50-lap segment awards one point for first place, two points for second, etc., with the finish from each segment inverted to start the next segment, meaning the winner of Segment 1 will start last in Segment 2.  The overall Milk Bowl winner wins $10,000 and will kiss a genuine Vermont beauty – a dairy cow!  Racing begins at 1:30pm on Sunday, Sept. 28.  Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Qualifying Day begins at 1:30pm on Saturday, Sept. 27 with time trials, “Triple 50” qualifying races, and events for Thunder Road’s weekly Sportsman, Street Stock, and Warrior divisions.

The Chittenden Bank/Thunder Road “Rookie Ride” contest winners will be drawn from each of the 15 participating Chittenden Bank locations on Thursday, Sept. 25.  Each lucky winner will be notified prior to the Milk Bowl.  For more information, call (802) 244-6963 or visit www.thunderroadspeedbowl.com or www.acttour.com
