RPM. How did you get started in racing?
Dave. Back in 1999 when my dad bought me my first go kart from Nate and I raced at
St. Albans now known as Thundering Valley Raceway. Of course my dad Dave Farrington has raced locally mostly in Enduros during the 80's and 90's.

RPM. What are your plans for the 2009 race season?
Dave. Run most of the schedule at Wiscasset, and try to run a few PASS North races this year. Looking at the race at Thompson right now.

RPM. Has the increase in fuel price effected your racing?
Dave. Not really. It’s not so bad right now because it could be up to 4 dollars a gallon or more. Right now it's only $2.44 at our local gas station for diesel.

RPM What are the pros and cons of local short track?
Dave. Wiscasset has probably one of the most competitive Pro Stock divisions around the North East plus Wiscasset is within 90 minutes from the garage. It is too bad that
Oxford did away with Pro Stocks or else who knows, we might have been racing there. It is also unfortunate that Wiscasset and the PASS Tour have gone separate ways, because I was looking forward to running the PASS events at Wiscasset this year.

RPM. If you could change one thing to improve the racing at Wiscasset Raceway, what would it be?
Dave. You can say this about every series or track, but just to have consistent and fair calls all the time. Now I know it’s nearly impossible because of course the race officials can not make everyone happy. However; I like that the Pro Stocks are giving 50 laps.

RPM. Will you be entering in any PASS Races this year?
Dave. Still Undecided but we are looking at the PASS race at Thompson. It all really depends on the success I have at Wiscasset this year. You have to do good at one track before you can start jumping around and racing at other tracks.

RPM. Whets your favorite track to race at? (Why)
Dave. Well I guess Wiscasset since that is the only Stock Car track I have raced at. I used to love racing at Oxford Plains Speedway during 2005-2007 in karting, because everyone knew who I was and I won alot of races during that time span.

RPM. Whats your most memorable moment in your racing career?
Dave. Well there are a few.. Winning 3 features in one night at Oxford Plains Speedway. Winning 5 out of 6 features in one night at
Oxford with my brother Craig sweeping the Unrestricted B races that same night. And racing at Daytona Beach during kart week was a thrill. Over 3,000 entries and about 200 karts per division. I was able to qualify on the 3rd row just being the kid from Maine. I can't forget about that heat race I had with Gary Smith in 2008 at Wiscasset. I came one lap shy from passing Gary on the outside for my first heat win.

RPM. What are your plans after high school?
Dave. I plan to attend
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida and major in Mechanical Engineering. Being top 5 in my class at Jay High School was a main reason why I was accepted to that college. Not sure whether I'll be racing in Maine or Florida in 2010 though.

RPM. What do you like to do when you are not racing around the track?
Dave. There's always something to do in the race shop whether its working on the race car, or changing the oil in one of the highway cars or just sitting out in the shop dreaming and thinking of old memories and possible new ones. Besides racing I have enjoyed playing Varsity football for three years at
Jay High School. I enjoy spending time with my family and the Keith family just down the road. You might also be lucky to spot me at the Bowling Alley sometime since I am in a bowling league as well.
