Lee, NH (June 22, 2009) – NASCAR Sprint Cup star Ryan Newman, South Bend,
Indiana, winner of the 2008 Daytona 500, will venture to Lee USA Speedway,
Route 125, Lee, NH., Friday night June 26, to compete with the popular
Northeastern Midget Association. Newman will drive a car owned and prepared
by Bertrand Motorsports, a top team on the NEMA circuit.

Newman, no stranger to open wheel racing and the extremely fast midgets,
will pilot a car sponsored by Hot Pepper Promotions. The 13 time winner in
NASCAR Sprint Cup competition is a former United States Auto Club (USAC)
competitor with 170 races under his belt.

Newman has scored 17 wins, 60 top five finishes, and 96 top 10 finishes with
the USAC sanction. He has also captured USAC National rookie honors for
Midget-Sprint-and Silver Crown competition, the only driver to do so. Newman
is also a former winner of the famed "Night before the 500" race, a longtime
Indiana midget classic held annually before the Indianapolis 500.

Newman will compete at Lee against a full field of drivers including
expected entries, Randy Cabral, Plymouth, MA., Nokie Fornoro, Stroudsburg,
PA., Greg Stoehr, Lakeville, MA., Jeff Abold, Pennelville, NY., Erica
Santos, Franklin, MA., Mike Keeler, Danbury, CT., and local entries, Peter
Stergios, Candia, NH., and Lee Bundy, Kennebunkport, ME.

The NEMA Lites are also scheduled along with the tracks weekly divisions,
the E-Keys 4-Cars Late Models, Prime Storage Late Model Sportsman, Hobby
Stocks, David's Race Cars & Components Roadrunners, P.B. Chop Shop
small-block supermodifieds and American Race Parts Iron-Man divisions. Race
time is 7:15 PM.
