The NEMST is headed to Speedway 95 in Hermon, Maine Saturday night for the make up of the May 17th Rain cancelled event. This will be the first show in the state of Maine for the NEMST, the home state for a lot of the participants. The season so far has been great for some and not so good for others. Problems have plagued numerous fast cars in the past two events, but Emerson Cayer is heading into the third race of the season with 2 wins and Justin Trombley right on his heels in the points standings.
Bangor is the home track for numerous NEMST competitors like Justin Trombley and Jason Dorr and close to home for countless other which should make for great car counts. The first two races of the season have shown great side by side racing action with the 92 of Ricky Porter and the 88 Emerson Cayer actually touching and getting airborne coming down the backstretch of WMMP just two weeks ago. Porter is looking to make a breakthrough NEMST win after misfortune at Canaan and leading many laps at WMMP.
The pit gates will be open around 3 PM and racing starts at 6:30. The NEMST will run 10 lap qualifying heats and a 50 lap $400 to win feature. Tires will be available at Speedway and are $80 each. DOT street tires and American 215’s are also eligible for competition in the 2009 NEMST
