BARRE, VT – The Pepsi Holiday stock car racing program set for Thursday, July 2 at Barre’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl is postponed due to rain. The fireworks planned for tonight will be moved to the last Thursday Night of the 50th Anniversary Season, August 27. The next event at Thunder Road will be the 50th Anniversary Celebration with WDEV’s $5,000 worth of fireworks in 50 seconds this Sunday, July 5.

The “Nation’s Site of Excitement” will continue to celebrate the 50th Anniversary Season with a special event this Sunday, July 5. The four-division card will be capped off with $5,000 worth of fireworks in 50 seconds sponsored by WDEV. The gates will open at 4:00pm with ticket prices set at $9.50 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6 to 12 and $20 for a family of any two adults and two kids. Post time Sunday will be at 6:00pm.
 
In the Late Model division, Dave Pembroke of Montpelier, VT holds a one point lead over Trampas Demers, while the top ten are separated by a mere 32 points. Bradford’s Derrick O’Donnell currently leads last week’s winner James Hebert by 14 points in the NAPA Tiger Sportsman division. 2008 Allen Lumber Street Stock Champion Jason Corliss of Danville, VT finds himself in a familiar place as he is the Street Stock point leader once again, while Montpelier’s Donnie Yates continues his domination of the Power Shift Junkyard Warrior and still remains on top of the point standings.
