Lee, NH (8/24/09) – Lee USA Speedway, home to weekly sanctioned NASCAR stock
car racing, will honor one of its own Friday night, August 28th, when area
racers compete in the annual Lance Davis Late Model Sportsman Shootout 50
lap race.

The annual race, presented by Prime Storage, will feature a rules package
based on the annual "Oktoberfest" event. According to track manager Bob
Watson, "we are going to utilize the rules we use for our October race. It
opens it up to outside entries.  Area drivers, from other race facilities,
have traditionally supported this race, supported Lance's memory. We'd like
to see that continue," he said. The race will also benefit local drivers. A
bonus has been put in place for the top five finishing Lee drivers.

Davis, who passed away in September 2003, at the age of 42, was very popular
with fans and competitors. A multi-time feature winner, Davis is fondly
remembered by fellow competitors as a gentleman both on and off the
speedway. "His passing had a huge effect on the racing community," said
track announcer John Spence. "Lance was one of the best. Those years he
teamed with Ron Bolduc were productive seasons. I called those races. Lance
was always around the front at the end. If he didn't win, he'd have a strong
finish. Lance was good for racing," Spence concluded.

In addition to a full card of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition
that features the E-Keys4Cars Late Models, David's Race Cars & Components
Roadrunners, Hobby Stocks, and American Auto Ironman division, the PB
Chopper Shop & Rods Supermodifieds have been added. They will compete in
twin 25 lap features.

Race time is at 7:15 PM.  Admission is $10 for adults, children 13-16 years
old $6 and kids under 12 are admitted FREE.
