LEE, NH- This Friday night, August 7th is USG Night at Lee USA Speedway, and thanks to the work of mother nature, that is just the beginning, as two rained out events will be added to the evening activities. USG has been a longtime supporter of NASCAR auto racing, and continues its support of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing at Lee on Friday night.

Wayne Helliwell Jr., will be in search of a third straight victory in the headline NASCAR Late Model division, with a number of drivers such as J.R. Baril and Bryan Kruczek looking to unseat him in victory lane.

The Small-Block Supermodifieds will finally get to run their makeup feature that was postponed in June, plus a second 25-lap main event as part of USG Night. With just 10 points separating Eddie Witkum Jr., and Dan Bowes, Friday night could go a long way in determining the 2009 Champion.

The popular Hobby Stocks will compete for 50 laps on Friday as well, running the postponed Doug Ricker Memorial Shootout that carries with it the prestige of winning the biggest event of their season. Jim Shorey leads Jimmy Russell by just five points heading into this event.

Friday night is also Third Quarter Championship night for all divisions, as the Late Model Sportsman division’s most recent winner Bobby Melvin tries to catch Grant Aither in the season standings. Jim Piaseczny will also try to increase his lead, which is just one point over Nick Manyati as the Road Runners return to action. The Ironman entry-level division will also be competing.

Then next Friday is the race everybody is talking about, as the lightning fast ISMA Supermodifieds make their only appearance at New Hampshire’s Center of Speed on August 14. The 75-lap Ollie Silva Memorial Summer Classic has long been the most popular event of the season at Lee, and the 2009 version of the event will be no different.

Chris Perley, Russ Wood and Rob Summers will compete against newcomers such as former Lee SBS driver Jeff Locke and Ben Seitz in the Bruce Budnick owned car. Three exciting heat races, which ISMA drivers earn points for, will also bring the best out of the Big-Block Supermodified drivers.

Also on August 14th, there will be a five division NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event as part of the night’s activities.

As the summer begins its last full month, Lee USA Speedway is the place to be on both August 7th and 14th , for what should go into the history books as two of the best nights of racing in New England all season long.

Admission for the August 7th program is still just $10 for adults, with children 12 and under admitted free of charge. Racing gets underway at 6:45 PM sharp.

As an added bonus to the faithful fans of Lee USA Speedway, advance sale tickets for the ISMA Supermodified race will be available this Friday night for a $5 discount off the admission price for the August 14th event. Tickets for the ISMA event will be available at the track for just $25 this Friday night only.
