JOEY, HOW DID YOUR TEST AT GREENVILLE GO?
“We spent a lot of time working on the car. It’s a tough little track. We were decent when we got there, but we worked and worked and worked all day, from 10 in the morning until 6 at night. I really got to watch the crew work on the car and see how the process worked. Being part of that definitely made me more comfortable.
“I probably did close to 200 laps at Greenville, and just to get that seat time is important.”
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUR FIRST CAREER RACE AT GREENVILLE-PICKENS SPEEDWAY?
“My personal goal is to qualify well. The way the track looks, qualifying is very important there. If you start up front, you’re going to get away from crashes and everything that’s bound to happen throughout the race.
“My personal goal is a top-10 finish. The car is definitely capable of more, but for me to go there and get a good top-10 finish would be awesome.”
DESCRIBE YOUR TESTING EXPERIENCE WITH FADDEN RACING EARLIER THIS MONTH.
“I definitely felt better after. I haven’t had a lot of time in these kind of cars at a track where I was comfortable. I love Loudon — don’t get me wrong — but it’s not something I’m used to. I’m used to the ACT Tour and the smaller tracks we run on there.
“(The short tracks) were a lot more what I’m used to.”
TEAM OWNER MIKE OLSEN ON HAVING JOEY POLEWARCZYK JR. IN THE CAR THIS WEEK:
“Joey is a very talented driver and we’re excited to be giving him the chance to show that at this level. Joey came and tested with us earlier this month and he showed he could get the job done. We’re pretty confident heading into this race.”
