Naples ME (3/8/2010) The points paying portion of the PASS South season will get underway on Saturday March 13th, and the South Carolina Clash promises 150 laps of side-by-side excitement from the drop of the first green until the checkers fly.

 



 

Pre-entries for the season kick off include defending race winner Justin Wakefield, 2010 series rookie of the year Ryan Blaney, Preston Peltier, Jay Fogleman and Brandon Ward. Joey Coulter will make the trip up from Florida and Texan Dylan Presnell has filed a pre-entry. Vermonter Steve Legendre, Home track favorite and short track legend Hal Goodson , PASS newcomer David Quakenbush and perennial contender Heath Hindman are all in the mix, as are Tayla Orleans, Spencer Wauters, Devin Jones and Chris Bohlman. Texan Trey Mitchell will make a run at the 2010 title with Gary Crooks calling the shots.

New names are evident on the pre race entry list as the excitement generated by the PASS loyalty bonuses for the PASS/Historic North Wilkesboro 300 on April 3, 2011are attracting a strong new presence in the series. The top 15 in the 2010 PASS South point standings will earn guaranteed starting positions in the $75,000.00 to win event, and as much as $25,000.00 in bonuses await the winner if they have competed in all of the PASS South championship events and four of the five PASS National events.

In addition to 150 green flag lap South Carolina Clash for the PASS super late models there’s a 75 lap shoot-out for the DMS Late Model Super Trucks, Legends, the Allison Legacy Series, Bandoleros and Mini-Cup cars on the schedule – six divisions of racing all told. Time trials kick it all off at 3:00 PM, and there’s an on track meet and greet at 4:30 PM, The  first heat gets the green at 5:20 PM. All of this and plenty more for a fan friendly adult ticket price of $15.00; kids eleven and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
