This past Thursday drivers Evan Beaulieu of the NELCAR Racing Series and Tasha Dyer a driver from Wiscasset Raceway, met with the students of the “Life Skills Class”, at Rockland High School.  Evan and Tasha spent the time signing autographs for the kids and answering all their questions, that ranged from “How fast do you go” to “Have you ever crashed”.

It was announced that Wiscasset Raceway owner Doug White has invited all the kids of the “Life Skills Class” and their teachers to the race track June 6th to watch the racing action at Maine’s biggest and fastest track.  There it will be announced who will be the recipient of the 2010 Maine Racing Dreams. The winner will receive 4 tickets on the start – finish line to the Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), on June 27th,.  Wiscasset Raceway will be admitting all students free this Sunday, May 23rd.

Knick Knack Racing Collectibles, located in Winslow, Maine will be donating some racing attire of the recipient’s favorite driver to wear while watching the race.

Oxford Plains Dragway donated tickets for all the kids in the class to get in to watch a day of drag racing free of admission.

The students themselves will be competing in their own race next month when they enter the Special Olympics.
