Brent Dragon finished 7th in the ACT Late Model Tour ACT 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday night, June 19. It was Dragon’s second straight 7th-place finish. He won the first heat race of the night to earn points in the championship standings and fought his way into the top-5 two-thirds of the way through the race after starting 12th in the 33-car field. Dragon was running fourth when he was caught behind a lapped car on a lap 106 restart, shuffling him out of the top-10, and he ended up rallying for 7th at the end.

BRENT, HOW WOULD YOU CATEGORIZE YOUR NIGHT OVERALL?

It was a pretty good night. We gained a few points on (leader Brian Hoar) in the end. He finished behind us in the heat race, so that deal sort of helps us a little bit there.

DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’RE PREPARED FOR THE TD BANK 250 AT OXFORD NEXT MONTH?

We’ve got something to come back to the 250 with that we learned today. We’ve been on both sides of it. We’ve been loose, and tonight we were a little bit tight. We can fix that and come back for the 250 and have a pretty good car.

YOU DEFINITELY DIDN’T WANT TO SEE THAT FINAL CAUTION ON LAP 105.

It took the car about 15 laps to get where it would start to go pretty good and build the pressures up in the tires. It had started to go at that point, but we had a couple too many cautions here. Usually, you only have one (caution) here it seems, but we had three and they kind of hurt us in the end.
