JOEY, DO YOU LOOK AT THIS AS A GOOD NIGHT OR A BAD NIGHT?

We won the heat race, so we finally won something, I guess you could say. The outside groove was where you had to be. The inside groove just had nothing. There’s just so much grip on the top and none on the bottom, and it creates single-file racing.

WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU SPUN ON LAP 102?

There was one point where everyone was just riding, I figured, ‘What the hell, I’ve got to try something,’ and I ended up spinning out.

CONSIDERING WHERE THIS TEAM WAS A MONTH AGO, DO YOU FIND A POSITIVE IN SIMPLY RUNNING AT THE END OF THE RACE?

It’s definitely a step toward the right direction considering where we were a month ago — it’s just not what we’re used to here. The competition this year is just at a different level than it was last year. It’s tough for everybody.

Even though we finished 15th, believe it or not, we had a decent points night. We’ll just keep going from here and try to figure some things out.
