Montpelier’s Pembroke will look to make it an extraordinary three straight Thunder Road feature wins after taking checkers in the Thunder Road Late Model 100 at Devils Bowl Speedway and the Memorial Day Classic at Thunder Road. But he will have to hold off the likes of Barre’s Nick Sweet who dominated the 2010 Merchants Bank 150 and appeared to be a contender on Memorial Day before spinning out while fighting for the lead.
Another contender is the 2009 Chittenden Milk Bowl Champion John Donahue of Graniteville. Donahue has yet to carry the checkered flag in 2010 but did earn a trip to victory lane with a second on Memorial Day.
Former champions of the “Nation’s Site of Excitement” Phil Scott and Cris Michaud will look towards the Ferguson event as their first step in rebounding from early season woes. Both were involved in accidents during the Memorial Day 100.
Kiddie rides this Sunday, June 13 will be held from 1:30pm to 2:15pm. Kids (ages 12 and under) will also be allowed in free for the special Ferguson Waterworks twilight event. Adult general admission is just
$9.50 and the racing action begins at 4:00pm sharp.
