Trevor Sanborn: PASS North Series
Speedway 660 Race Preview

Trevor Sanborn of Parsonsfield, Maine, returns to full-time PASS North Series competition with Richard Moody Racing this weekend as the series heads to the Pro All Stars Series 200 at Speedway 660 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Sanborn last ran a full schedule with RMR in 2008, and he finished third while driving the RMR No. 44 at White Mountain Motorsports Park last month. After winning back-to-back 40-lap Pro Series features to open the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Sanborn and Moody reached agreement for Sanborn to run the remaining 11 races on the 2010 schedule and compete for the championship. TREVOR, BEFORE THIS SEASON STARTED YOU SAID THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD KEEP YOU FROM RUNNING FOR THE BEECH RIDGE CHAMPIONSHIP WAS A SHOT AT THE PASS NORTH CHAMPIONSHIP. HOW EXCITED ARE YOU ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY?

I can’t really even explain it. I always wanted to race on that tour from the beginning, and even though we didn’t have everything together this spring, now that it’s come together I’m really excited about it.

I know we can be a contender for the championship, and I know that I’ve got a great shot at finally winning my first PASS North race. With this team, I know we can go to any race track and win, and I have a ton of confidence in the crew chief (Brian Burgess) and the cars. It all just adds up.

DO YOU STILL PLAN ON COMPETING IN NASCAR WHELEN ALL-AMERICAN SERIES PRO SERIES RACES AT BEECH RIDGE?

Absolutely. I won’t be able to run for the championship, especially because the entire month of July it seems we’re PASS racing. But I plan to go there still on our off weekends and try and win some races.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON SPEEDWAY 660 THIS WEEKEND?

I haven’t been up there in a while, but I remember that it was a pretty tight little track. It wasn’t quite as banked as White Mountain (Motorsports Park), but it was a lot like (All-Star Speedway). It’s definitely more of a driver’s track, and I like those kind of places. It’s fun to get up on the wheel and really race the car on those kinds of tracks.
