Trevor Sanborn of Parsonsfield, Maine, gears up for round four of the PASS North Series season as the series heads to the PASS 150 at Unity Raceway in Unity, Maine, on Sunday, June 20. Sanborn sits fourth in the series standings after a DNF last weekend at Speedway 660 with overheating problems, an race in which he was running third at the halfway point. Sanborn has a best career finish of fifth at Unity Raceway, and he will compete in the Father’s Day event as part of a doubleheader weekend. Sanborn will enter his own car in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 40-lap Pro Series feature at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday night, where he hopes to make it three wins in three starts this season.

TREVOR, HOW DISAPPOINTING WAS LAST WEEKEND AT SPEEDWAY 660?

I knew we had a pretty good car, and I’m still wound up about what happened. We started out and we were really, really good. We were fast, and we had a top-3, if not a winning car. But we came to the yellow and everybody got checked up behind a lapped car and I ran into the back of Cassius (Clark). It messed up the duct work and we overheated.

I know everybody has their highs and lows in this sport, but it seems like I’ve had my fair share of lows.

ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO UNITY RACEWAY THIS WEEKEND?

I can’t wait to go. (Crew chief Brian Burgess) said we have a good setup for that place, and we should have a good car. It’s a little rough there, but it’s a driver’s track. I’m excited about that.

There’s a lot of give and take at Unity, and you have to give more than you take. That’s just the way it is there. There’s not a lot of room, and you just have to survive until the end.

YOU MUST BE LOOKING FORWARD TO A RETURN TO BEECH RIDGE?

I am. Absolutely. I’m hoping to make it three in a row there. We’re going there to win — and hopefully that happens. If it does, great, and if not, oh well, we’ll just take it and move on.
