Jeffrey Earnhardt Announces Entry In TD Bank 250 At Oxford Plains Speedway

Jeffrey Earnhardt, grandson of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, has entered the TD Bank 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway. The race is on July 18, 2010 with qualifying starting at 2:00 pm. The green flag will fly on the TD Bank 250 itself at 6:30.

Earnhardt will be driving for Go Green Racing, a team owned by Archie St. Hilaire from Old Orchard Beach, Maine. St. Hilaire has fielded cars in the TD Bank 250 before, most recently with NASCAR’s Kevin Lepage at the helm. The Late Model will be number 8NC and will be sponsored by BBI Waste Industries of Old Orchard Beach. Jeffrey will be competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Friday, July 16, before flying to Maine to practice on Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s main event.

“I was absolutely thrilled when Archie St. Hillaire contacted me to let me know that Jeffrey Earnhardt would be competing in the TD Bank 250,” said Speedway owner Bill Ryan. “The Earnhardt’s are racing royalty and we are honored that Jeffrey has decided to challenge the best Late Models from all over New England and Eastern Canada.”

Jeffrey Earnhardt, a native of Mooresville, North Carolina, has competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the K&N East Series. While in the K&N East Series, he was twice named “Most Popular Driver”. Earnhardt started his driving career competing in the short tracks of Virginia. After moving to the East Series, Jeffrey had his best points year in 2007, when he finished fifth. This past winter Jeffrey was named as one of NASCAR’s “Most Beautiful People” by the Sporting News.

“Racing in the TD Bank 250 will be an exciting challenge for me. Growing up in racing like I did, everyone knows about Oxford and how tough the competition is there. I am excited for the opportunity that Go Green Racing has given me,” Earnhardt said.

Archie St. Hilaire is looking forward to having Jeffrey pilot the number 8NC. “Jeffrey is great racer who is adored by fans wherever he goes. We look forward to racing in the TD Bank 250 and I think Jeffrey will definitely be a factor.”
