The only benefit to the postponement was the number of additional cars that came out to run with the NEMST in its sophomore season. Twenty-four cars were on hand for the event and we had a very close field that was showcased throughout the three practice sessions. After practice was over and the draw for heat starting position was made it started to sprinkle light rain in the area which eventually picked up to a steady rain that had last well over an hour. During the aforementioned drivers meeting Bruce Knowles of Dover, NH took home the Tater’s NASCAR Merchandise $100 bonus. An additional $100 bonus will also be given away at the October make-up.
The event will be run at Unity for our championship event of the year being held on October 10th 2010, as part of Unity’s Long John Weekend. In unconventional fashion the NEMST will hold both the heat and feature events on Sunday of the Long John. The wristbands given to NEMST were taken by tour administrator Bob Guptill and will be used for re-entry in October.
Cars the were not on hand for todays event but do wish to run with the NEMST in October for whatever reason WILL be able to be added into the event. We will redraw for heat starting positions on the make-up date in October
