Scarborough,Maine– Since joining the ranks of Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Pro Series drivers in 2009, Bill Whorff has seen his share of struggles trying to get around the Scarborough oval. Whorff found himself in the right position on Saturday night to take advantage of circumstances and drove to the victory in the 40 lap NASCAR Pro Series event. Gunnar Josselyn led the opening lap of the race but on the second go sround Josselyn bobbbled exiting turn two and the whole pack of cars behind him started to pile up.

The end result was a 14 car wreck that blocked the backstretch. Bill Whorff was able to get through the crash unscathed as most of the field headed to the pit area for repairs. After a lengthy red flag to clear the wreck, Whorff bolted into the lead and began to open up a sizeable lead over the field. The remainder of the race was caution free asd Whorff sailed under the checkered flag a ΒΌ lap in front of second place finisher Scott Moore. Brad Babb was third with Dan McKeage and Trevor Sanborn fourth and fifth. Corey Bubar won his third Sport Series feature race. Dave Charest led some of the opening laps until Travis Buzzell took over at lap 13.

Buzzell stayed in front until Bobby Nadeau took over following a lap 14 restart. Buzzell and Nadeau spent the next 10 laps swapping the lead back and forth until Bubar moved around and to the front with just 2 laps remaining in the race. Bubar took the win with nadeau second and dalton Gagnon third. Buzzell was fourth and Sally Gherardi fifth. In the closest finish of the season Randy Snow won the Wildcat feature race. Buddy Minott and Paul Lund took turns leading the early laps until Keith Stuart took the lead on lap 10.

Stuart appeared headed to his first Beech Ridge win but the caution flags on laps 11, 19 and 25 erased his lead. On the final restart Stuart and Snow engaged in a side by side race for the lead with Dan Wink right behind. On the final lap, Snow and Stuart fought it out to the finish with the drag race to the finish line going to Snow by less than 6 inches over Stuart. Wink was third with Chris Warming and Alby Ovitt rounding out the top finishers.

Ray Letellier shook off his season long dry spell and won the Road Runner main event. Nicole Timmons led until lap 11 when Letellier made the move to the inside and took the lead. The only caution flag of the race waved on lap 14 but Letellier was able to hold on to the lead to the finish. Dave Cameron finished second with Shawn Brackett third. Ryan Phillips and matt Dow were fourth and fifth.
