“We know that times could be better and the cost of fuel is high, so PASS and Motor Mile have teamed up to o offer up a great value for race fans. This fantastic speedway is the perfect venue for our PASS South super late models, and we hope that our special $20.00 per car load general admission price will encourage race fans to come out and see the fastest full fendered race cars and short track stars in the east, “ said Mayberry.
Andy Loden, Stephen Nasse, Chris Eggleston, Ryan Blaney and Jay Fogleman have each earned a win in the first five races of the 2011 PASS South season. While each of those drivers would like to be the one entering victory lane as the first repeat winner of the season, 2011 series regulars Preston Peltier, Heath Hindman, Steven Legendre, Justin Wakefield, Jody Lavender, Jimmy Weller, Gray Gaulding and a host of others are hoping to celebrate their first win Saturday night.
Defending National Champion Preston Peltier leads the PASS National Championship battle after round one at Hickory Motor Speedway, but Jay Fogleman, Ryan Blaney,Ben Rowe and Andy Loden are hot on his heels. Blaney sits atop the PASS South standings by fourteen markers over Fogleman
Two Maine racers. 2008 National Champion Cassius Clark and 2009 PASS South and PASS National titlest Ben Rowe are on the Motor Mile pre – entry list, and they join Peltier as drivers with a shot at becoming the first to earn a second National title.
The 2011 PASS South Championship is shaping up to be a battle all the way to the end of the season. Blaney was able to extend his points lead over Fogleman after the last event at South Boston Speedway (VA), but the slim 14 point-lead can easily slip away in one corner at Motor Mile. Peltier, Loden and Hindman are all hanging tough in the top five, looking to pounce on the leaders when the opportunity presents itself.
The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South 150 weekend at Motor Mile Speedway will kick off on Friday, May 27th, with an optional practice. On race day, May 28th, the pit gates open at 11:00 AM with rotating practice from 2 PM until 4:30 PM. Time trials roll off at 5:15 PM with the racing getting the green flag at 7 PM. The CCS Late Model Sportsman Tour, Legends, Bandoleros and Limited Sportsmans will also be in action Saturday night.
