Barre, VT – Graniteville’s Chip Grenier claimed his first win of the 2011 season on Safelite Auto Glass Night at Thunder Road on Thursday, August 4. Grenier started on the outside pole, but had a hard battle with Joey Becker and then Grant Folsom during four restarts in the 50 lap event.

After the final restart on lap 34, Grenier and Folsom broke away from the field. Nick Sweet worked his way to third, while Trampas Demers came from the 16th starting position to take fourth with Becker in fifth. Cris Michaud, co-point leader Dave Pembroke, rookie Jimmy Hebert, Matt White and Derek Ming completed the top ten.

Eric Badore, Matt Potter, Josh Demers, Mike Ziter and Mike MacAskill rounded out the top ten.

The annual Run-What-U-Brung was won by Nate Crete of Essex Junction in a 2011 Audi. James Martin of Monkton took second in a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro. The event saw over 30 street legal cars in the single elimination one lap drags.
