Canaan, NH — After an unexpected week off thanks to Mother Nature, the Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to the State of Maine, and the famed Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, in Scarboro, Saturday night, August 6, when the open-wheel, 600 horse-powered modifieds, compete in a 100 lap green-flag event.

Saturday’s event will be the Series fifth appearance at the historic speedway. To date, five different drivers have visited victory lane, at “The Ridge.”

Eight different drivers have visited victory lane in 2011 on the VMRS
circuit. Several winners this season and current top point men are expected as the series heads into a busy month of August.

Oxford Plains winner Joe Doucette, Framingham,MA., will try to become the third driver to sweep both Maine races. Previously Kirk
Alexander, of Swanzey, NH., and defending series Champion, Jon McKennedy, Chelmsford, MA., an entry in this weekends race, have nabbed both races in the Pine Tree State in the same season.

The two drivers topping the point standings, Chris Pasteryak of Lisbon, CT., and Les Hinckley III, of Windsor Locks, CT., have only
18 points separating them entering the Beech Ridge race.

Huntingdon Valley, PA., hotshoe Rowan Pennink , third in the point
standings is expected. Norm Wrenn, a veteran racer from Nashua, NH., is expected as is two-time series winner, Rob Goodenough

The defending race winner, Kenny Barry, Preston, CT., is slated to appear in his brand new mount. Maine favorites, Jacob Dore, of Sanford, and Tony Ricci, of Westbrook, both with lots of Beech Ridge
experience, are expected entries.

Max Zachem, of Preston, CT coming off a strong finish at Oxford Plains two weeks ago, is another driver who knows the fast way around the 1/3 mile speedplant.
