ACT Tour Racing
Waterbury, VT –The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today the first group of invitees for what is expected to be one of the most exciting events of the September 23-25, 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend.

ACT teams are coming off some spectacular short track style racing on the “Magic Mile” during the August IZOD INDYCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). Now the best of the Northeast will be invited for the third annual Invitational.

“Now entering our third Invitational, this event has gone from an experiment in 2009 to one of the most anticipated races of the year for our teams and fans. Over $75,000 in purse and bonus money for regional track champions and event winners is a real tribute to NHMS as they support the short tracks in our region. It is a great day of racing with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the Whelen Modified Tour, and the ACT Late Models”, said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour.

The first ACT invited teams have earned their way into the Invitational by: a) leading either the ACT US (a touring series throughout New England and eastern New York with combination events at NHMS, and Riverside Speedway and Autodrome Chaudière in Quebec) or the ACT Castrol Series (a touring series throughout Quebec with combination events at NHMS and Airborne Speedway in the US); b) winning any of 23 scheduled events on either tour; c) winning special events at the TD Bank 250 at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine, or the Showdown at Chaudière, an annual team racing event between the two ACT touring series’ top eleven point teams; d) being affiliate track champions, or substantial weekly track point leaders who have also been pre-invited, if they have been approved to race at the NHMS mile. There are $500 bonus awards posted in the Invitational purse for each series leader, event winners, and affiliate track champions. The bonus program will offer over $16,000 in bonus purse to the ACT competitors.
