Brendan Moodie, Greg Adams and Jason Woodard Take Monza Segment 1 Wins
Barre, VT – Jefferson, New Hampshire’s Nick Pilotte claimed his second career Allen Lumber Street Stock win at Thunder Road during the previously postponed 50 lap event which began at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH. The Street Stocks completed the final 41 laps with just one caution. Pilotte came from seventh on the field to take the win after getting around Alan Maynard. Maynard was followed to the line by Martin Ingram, Garry Bashaw and point leader Greg Adams rounding out the top five.
Brendan Moodie of Wolcott qualified on the pole of the first Monza segment for the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen with the fastest time in qualifying. Moodie led all 35 laps as the segment went flag to flag. Point leader Derrick O’Donnell shadowed his every move as they worked their way through heavy lap traffic. The two were followed to the line by Bobby Therrien who came from the seventh starting position. Josh Demers and Mike Ziter completed the top five.
Point leader Greg Adams of Hardwick started on the pole of the Allen Lumber Street Stocks segment one and led all 25 laps. Adams nearly lost the win on the final lap as Pilotte pulled up beside him with a three wide lapped car road block in front of them. Bunker Hodgdon, Martin Ingram and Garry Bashaw took top fives.
Waterbury’s Jason Woodard won the first segment of the Junkyard Warriors Monza event. He was followed by Danny Brassard and Kevin Wheatley.
Tomorrow, Sunday, September 4, the ACT Late Model Tour will come to town for the 33rd running of the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic. The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and the Junkyard Warriors will be back tomorrow for their second Monza segments after an inversion of the top 20 from segment one. Post time is at 1:30pm. Front gates open at 10:00am.
