Nick Sweet Still King Of The Road
Sweet wins ACT Labor Day Classic 200 In 2nd RPM Motorsports Start

BARRE, Vt. – Nick Sweet made himself right at home on Sunday afternoon, winning the ACT Late Model Tour Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday.

The victory for Sweet came in just his second start in the RPM Motorsports No. 57 Saint J Auto Ford.

“I’ve got to thank all the guys that work on this car, and car owner Rick Paya for giving me the opportunity to drive this car,” Sweet said. “It was just an awesome, awesome day.”

Sweet ran with the leaders all afternoon and opted to make a late pit stop for fresh tires with just over 50 laps remaining. By Lap 184, he was lined up outside of the race leader for a restart, moving past just three laps later en route to victory.

It was Sweet’s second ACT win of the season at Thunder Road, where he won the 2010 track championship. Sweet also won the Merchants Bank 150 in May.

“The guys, they called it perfect. They said, ‘It’s time to come and pit,’” Sweet said. “Man, it was awesome. It was so much fun.”

“This means a lot,” RPM Motorsports owner Rick Paya said. “ I knew that the 57 was a winning team and a winning car with Andrew Hill crew chiefing. He just brought us to the next level.

“Obviously, Nick loved how the car went.”
