Perform the National Anthem at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. (Feb. 9, 2012) -New Hampshire Motor Speedway is asking all New England area singers to tap into their inner Kelly Clarkson and belt out the national anthem during the third annual FANtasy Drive celebration on April 7.

If you think you have what it takes, submit a DVD, CD, Wav file or MP3 file of you singing “The Star Spangled Banner” a cappella style (without music or other accompaniments) to “The Magic Mile,” beginning Friday, Feb. 10.

Fifteen participants will be selected through the submission process. Once chosen, they will take the stage in front of celebrity judges like NASCAR pit reporter Dick Berggren and other local personalities during the fan celebration.

The two winners will perform at either the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour New England 100 on July 14, or the F.W. Webb 100 on Sept. 22.

FANtasy Drive is a free admission open house with something for everyone. Race fans can feel like their favorite NASCAR star by driving around the 1.058-mile oval, they can enter the infield to check out the garage area, have their picture taken in Victory Lane and meet local, regional series drivers. The hospitality area will feature a band and Milo the moose will host his annual Easter egg hunt for the children. Attendees may also check out the box levels for an exclusive tour of Chairman of the Board Bruton Smith’s suite or head up to race control to see where officials oversee the track.

Last year’s winners, Alexandra Wentworth and Christopher Duffley, both of New Hampshire, sang their hearts out in front of screaming fans during two NASCAR events.
