Thunder Road Introduces New Weekly Division

Barre, VT — Thunder Road has announced a new ‘starter’ division for the 2012 season. The Rough Riders will be a division unlike any other created at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement”.

The Rough Riders will include an array of cars that must be 10 years or older, and will be encouraged to be painted in ‘character’ paint schemes like Spider Man, Terminator, Daffy Duck, Tweetie Bird, Mad Max, etc. The first of these cars will be built by Tom Curley, long-time promoter of Thunder Road. It will be known as the “Killer Bee”, painted yellow and black, and Curley is trying to get one of the most famous, under developed, names in Northeastern Motorsports to be his driver. Andrew Boritis will be the designated driver of the “Killer Bee”, and will be nicknamed “Andy B The Bumble Bee”. The car will be displayed at the Inaugural Vermont State Championship Mekkelsen Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 27th.

Curley said, “I plan to put a bulls-eye on the Killer Bee and the first team that sufficiently whacks Boritis in the bulls-eye will be awarded a $100 bonus and my eternal gratitude. This division has been designed to be affordable, and most of all, a whole lot of fun.”

The Rough Rider’s first showdown will be Sunday, June 17 on Harvest Equipment Night at Thunder Road. Rules are posted on the www.thunderroadspeedbowl.com site under the “Rules” section. For more information contact the ACT Office at (802) 244-6963 or email us at tb@acttour.com.
