The Benjamin Motorsports team started the 2012 season at Beech Ridge this past Saturday. After practice was cancelled on Friday, that kinda put the team a little behind the eight ball but after practice on Saturday morning the team was confident that they could have a good race.

Starting in the fifth position in the qualifying race and finishing second in just fifteen laps the team knew they were good to run in the top ten but didn’t feel they had a car capable of winning so a few adjustments were made after the qualifying race.

At the start of the 150 lap feature event the car was good and was in the top 5 for the first 25 laps. After the first caution, the outside line didn’t get off to a good start and next thing the 17 car was back to tenth. Than contact with another competitor, Travis got spun and put down a lap. The team fought hard and got there lap back. Than starting outside the top 20 the 17 car would end up 17th at the end of the race. “We made a couple little mistakes today that I feel were first race of the season mistakes. This was are first day on the track and we just over adjusted the car. Things went well for the most part but once that sun went down we started to struggle. In this series this year you make a little mistake its going to show up big time” Travis said after the race.

The AG of New England, Shurfine Ford Fusion will be back in action this weekend at All Star Speedway in Epping New Hampshire.
