Persistent rain showers forced Speedway 95 management to cancel the racing program scheduled for Saturday June 23. After an hour delay, a track drying effort and one lap of a Bomber heat race, the rain started again and halted racing for the night. The 50 lap Gardner Construction Enterprises Sportsman series race #2, scheduled for Saturday night will be run on next week’s program in conjunction with the Pepsi Beverage Company Strictly Street 35 lap series event #2 regularly scheduled for that night. The Dysart’s Late Models, Sport-Fours and Bombers will all be racing their normal features when racing resumes on June 30 at 7:00 p.m.
On Wednesday June 27, a special 50 lap Little Enduro race has been scheduled for the Varney Buick-GMC-Mazda Wacky Wednesday show that will pay the winner $500.00. Admission prices have been reduced to $5.00 for the night’s show. Also on tap will be racing in the Big Enduro, Pick- up Trucks and Ladies divisions. A second Little Enduro race will be run for any drivers interested in racing 10 laps clockwise then 10 laps counter-clockwise to make up a 20 lap feature. Ten or more drivers must start the event to make it happen. Kid’s bike races will be run beginning at 6:30 prior to the 7:00 p.m. start for teh regular show.
