Theetge Capitalizes on Déry’s Troubles

Waterbury, VT – With a fast car and a little luck, Boischatel, QC’s Donald Theetge has taken over the point lead on the Série ACT Castrol. With two championships already in hand, Theetge seeks a record third Série ACT Castrol title in 2012.

2012 was shaping up nicely for Quebec’s Jean Francois Déry, who led the points after two straight third place finishes to begin the season, but it all came to a screeching halt when a rock shot through his radiator in the third event of the year, relegating the point leader to a last place finish.

Theetge wasted no time capitalizing on the lucky break. After winning the second event of the season at Autodrome Chaudière, Theetge dominated the third too, picking up another big win and vaulting him to the point lead by over thirty points. Déry plummeted from first to sixth.

Former Série ACT Castrol Champion Karl Allard lurks in second on the wings of an opening day victory at Autodrome Montmagny, the very track Série ACT Castrol heads to this weekend. Up and comer Dany Trepanier rides third overall, two-time Série ACT Castrol Champion Patrick Laperle is fourth and David Michaud completes the top five. Déry falls to sixth, rookie Etienne Cliche is 7th, and Patrick Hamel, Gaetan Lauzier, and Patrick Cliche round out the top ten.

The action resumes this Saturday, June 30 at Autodrome Montmagny in Montmagny, QC. Post time is 5:00pm.
