The Benjamin Motorsports team was at Canaan Fairgrounds this past weekend with high hopes of continuing its strong start of the 2012 season. After being 2nd, 3rd and 3rd on the practice speed charts the team thought they would be in good shape.

The team would start 3rd in its qualifying heat and after a side by side battle with Joey Doiron for six laps Travis would bring the 17 car home with another qualifying win. That would start the Benjamin Motorsports team in the 11th starting spot for the feature. The Pro All Stars Series has a rule that states if you win a race you can never start better than 11th for the main event.

At the start of the Firecracker 150 Travis would have the 17 car heading toward the front of the field. At the first caution Travis would be in the 5th position. The next green flag run the 17 car was once again going to the front of the field and getting into the 2nd spot with 30 laps remaining. But than the car started to bottom out and hit the track and Cassius Clark would pass Travis for 2nd. At the finish Travis would come home with another top 3 finish. “The car was awesome till 30 laps to go, than the car started hitting the pavement and wouldn’t turn like it was for the first 120 laps but I will take another podium finish”. Traivs said after the race.

The Benjamin Motorsports team will be at Beech Ridge in Scarborough Maine this weekend and try to improve on there run that they had the first race of the season which was a 17th place finish.
