Speedway 95The dismal skies and occasional rain on Saturday forced Speedway 95 officials to cancel the racing program scheduled for Saturday night. Owner Del Merritt said the 50 lap Gardner Construction Enterprises series race for the Sportsman cars will be run Saturday night August 18 along with the 35 lap Strictly Street Pepsi Beverage Company series race scheduled for that night. Merritt also announced that the racing season will be extended two weeks to compensate for the two race dates rained out this season. Racing will be scheduled for Saturday September 29 and Saturday, October 6, with a 5 p.m. start time for both nights. Merritt added that the regular points races would end on September 22 as scheduled, and most likely some special events will be scheduled for the added dates.
