Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine released its 2013 racing schedule. The highlight of the schedule is the TD Bank 250 to be held on July 21. The 2013 edition of the event marks the return of the Super Late Model type cars after a six year absence under the Late Model format. The 2013 schedule boasts a very aggresive format with events from April to October at the 3/8 mile oval. There are 19 Oxford Championship Series points events slated to take place along with 13 Oxford Acceleration Series points nights, 4 Motor Mayhem events, a Mega Monster Truck Extravaganza weekend in August, and the 1st Annual Tom Mayberry Swap Meet to close out the year.

In addition to those events, the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models will once again return for two dates in 2013; the season opener on April 21 and Championship Weekend on September 27 and 28. Joining the Pro All Stars Series in September will be the annual Oxford Championship Series Little Guys and Oxford Acceleration Series Showdown events for what will prove to be an action packed weekend.

And that’s not all! Still to be scheduled are additional visits by the Pro All Stars Series Sportsman and Modified divisions as well as extended lap feature events for the Oxford Championship Series and more. Those events will be added as soon as dates can be confirmed.

One of the most notable changes is the move from Saturday to Friday night for the Oxford Championship Series. Along with the change in day, the pit gate, practice, and heat start times have been pushed back to help accommodate both fans and drivers.

Oxford Plains Speedway is bringing back the highly popular post-race track party. After each Oxford Championship Series event, the track gates will be opened to allow fans of all ages to interact with their favorite drivers on the front stretch.
The Speedway also announced that season passes for all events are being sold at a 40% discount if purchased by December 31, 2012. After New Year’s Day there are extended discounts of 30% through March 1, 2013 and 25% off until April 1, 2013.

In the racing world, there isn’t a lot of down time. At the All-New Riverside Speedway, new lessee Dan Fournier and his team have been hard at work with plans for 2013. Schedules are being worked on and ideas being fined tuned to try to make 2013 stand out in everyone’s minds. As part of the process, driver’s meetings have been announced to take place on December 2nd at the Groveton Town Hall, 10 Station Square in downtown Groveton, NH.

On June 15, 2013 the American Canadian Tour returns to the Canaan Fair Speedway. The ACT Tour hasn’t performed there since 2001. Canaan promoter Dick Therrien and ACT’s Tom Curley. According to published reports Canaan’s Late Models will be competing against the ACT Tour teams.

New England Dragway in Epping, NH and the NHRA Mello Yellow Racing Series are making a big push on ticket sales for the June 20-23 NHRA New England National. The event will feature NHRA’s biggest stars from all four professional racing categories: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Fans can catch 15-time Funny Car world champion John Force, seven-time Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher, 2012 rookie sensation Courtney Force and New England’s own Bob Tasca, III of Rhode Island as they light up the track at over 320 mph with jaw dropping side-by-side racing.

The venue is offering fee kids admission-kids 12 & under admitted free in general admission areas with a paid adult. Limit four of four free kids per paid adult. There’s a $12 down payment plan by placing $12 down with your initial payment and pay the remaining balance in four monthly interest-free installment payments.
