1000-DSC_8275 Scarborough, ME – DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM team returned to action this past weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the second round of the Pro All Stars Series North season. After starting in the 19th position, Shaw made worked his way to the front and fended off Dale Shaw Racecars teammate Joey Doiron for the win in the Southern Maine Motors 150.

“This is a big win for us to come back here and run as well as we did,” Shaw said in victory lane, “I was surprised just how fast we got into the top ten, from that point on I knew if we just hit our marks we could win this race.”

It wasn’t an easy victory however, as DJ Shaw had to start from the 19th starting spot after finishing 7th in his heat race. With a fast race car, Shaw methodically worked his way through the field, and found himself running in the top five by the races halfway point. Running in second with forty laps to go, a caution came out to slow the field and set up a dash for the finish. On the race’s final restart, Shaw got the advantage ahead of Joey Doiron, and lead the field to the checkered flag as he took his first win of the 2013 PASS North season.

“We struggled a bit at Oxford a few weeks ago but this team works so hard and we bounced back today,” Shaw said of his team, “and it was a great day for the company (Dale Shaw Racecars) with Joey having another strong run in second and David Oliver was in the top five for most of the day, definitely a great way to start our season.”

The Precision JLM team will make the trip north of the border in two weeks on May 18th as they will run at the Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec, Canada. Shaw finished in 7th place in his last trip to the track.
