chaudiere_win61513Vallee-Jonction, Quebec – DJ Shaw made the most of an off weekend from PASS competition, taking the win at Autodrome Chaudiere in a 150 lap open competition race. Using this race as a test session of sorts for the final two races of the Pro All Stars Series North Autobus Quebecois Triple Crown Series, the team was confident they had made the right changes to the setup since their last trip to Chaudiere.

The day started off with rain showers breaking up the practice sessions, but anytime the #60 Precision JLM Toyota Camry went on the track, it was flawless. Starting on the pole in his heat race, Shaw drove away from the field and made it look easy to take the win, giving him the outside of the front row for the feature event.

At the start of the 150 lap feature event, Shaw would pass by pole sitter Alex Gingras for the lead, as Shaw led the races opening laps. Numerous cautions plagued the first part of the event, as Shaw led the field during each of them. Travis Benjamin, a fellow PASS North competitor, made his way to the front to challenge Shaw, as the two ran hard for the race win. The races final restart came with 45 laps to go, as Benjamin got the advantage of Shaw. Not content to ride in second, Shaw made some quick work of lapped traffic to get around Benjamin with eight laps to go. He didn’t look back from there, as he took his second win of the season, and first at Chaudiere!

“This was definitely a shocker for me,” Shaw said in victory lane, “I knew we had a good car, but this thing was flawless all race and I can’t thank this crew enough for all the hard work they do, I’m looking forward to our next two trips here with the PASS tour.”

Dale Shaw followed up a third place run at Oxford Plains Speedway the night before with a 6th place effort at Chaudiere behind the wheel of the #68 Precision JLM Toyota Camry. The next event for DJ Shaw will be this Sunday, June 23rd at Oxford Plains Speedway as the PASS North Series returns to competition. Heat races will begin at 4PM with the PASS 150 estimated to roll off at 6PM.
