Speedway 95ERIC PELLETIER WNS LITTLE ENDURO SEASON OPENER

Eric Pelletier of Old Town was declared the winner of the 25 lap Little Enduro series feature Wednesday night at Speedway 95 when Darren Durrell of Newburgh and Henry Boudreau of Winterport were penalized for running a buffed tire, which was not allowable in this particular race. A rule change effective with the June 12 race night will allow the division drivers to run a buffed tire. Second place went to Rick Gomm of Dixmont with Dustin Lancaster of Milo finishing third. Durrell and Boudreau were place at the end of the field for finishing positions.

Jim Carr Jr. of Clifton led all the way from the drop of the green to the checkers in the caution free 20 lap pick- up truck feature. Carr, the 2012 division champion, held off Doug Sinclair of Hermon to post the win. Sinclair chased Carr for the entire distance, but couldn’t make the pass, even when Carr’s truck slowed in turn three of the final lap with a mechanical failure. Sinclair finished second with Bucksport’s Dana Harlow in third.

In the Ladies feature, Erin Evans of Milo passed early leader Amy Houde of Howland on lap 12 of the 20 lap Ladies feature and held Houde at bay for the win. Houde finished second with Nicole Smith of Clifton in third.

Fourteen year old Kyle Moore of Winterport won the Stars of Tomorrow feature event in his first time ever in a stock car. Moore took the lead early and held off 11 year old Dylan Street of Old Town, who finished a close second. Third went to 13 year old Dustin Durrell of Newburgh.
