1000-DSC_8255 Scarborough, ME – After several rain outs, Joey Doiron and the #73 Wild Willy Burger’s team was back in action this past weekend at their home track of Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the fourth event of the Pro All Stars Series North. Doiron and the team have been stellar at the 3/8th mile track recently, finishing in the top five in three of their last four starts at the track. They continued that streak with a strong fourth place effort on Saturday night.

“We finished about where we should’ve tonight,” Doiron explained after the race, “We battled a tight racecar all night and kept getting pinned on the bottom on each restart, we used up our right front just trying to keep our track position, but I’m glad we were able to get another strong run to keep the momentum going.”

The night started off with a second place finish in his heat race, giving Doiron a third place starting spot for the 150 lap feature event. After battling with Mike Rowe and Martin Latulippe on the start, Doiron took the lead and paced the field through the first part of the event. He would run for the win with eventual winner Cassius Clark, and was a threat until the end. The team never left the top five during the race en route to the fourth place finish.

After four races, Doiron is the only driver in the PASS North Series that has finished in the top five in every event, and he increased his points lead on Saturday night. The team will have to turn around quickly this week, as they are back at Oxford Plains Speedway on Friday, July 12th for a make-up event from a few weeks ago. The heat races have already been run; Doiron suffered a rear end issue after leading his heat race. The team will have to start near the rear of the field on Friday night, but they will have 150 laps to get to the front. Racing starts at 7:15PM.
